LORAIN COUNTY / MAIN STREET AMHERST RECEIVE $300,000.00 GRANT
LORAIN COUNTY, OHIO - The Lorain County Commissioners are pleased to announce that Lorain County, in partnership with Main Street Amherst, has been awarded $300,000 in grant funding from the Ohio Development Services Agency Office of Community Development. Grant funds will leverage $4,623,500 of Private Rehabilitation dollars for downtown properties and enhance public parking facilities within the Amherst business district.

The funds that will be reinvested in our community will continue to make downtown Amherst an inviting and vibrant location in the County.” said Commissioner Lori Kokoski, Board President,
The PY 2015 Community Development Competitive Set-Aside Program received seventy-four (74) state-wide applications, which included Neighborhood Revitalization, Downtown Revitalization, and Critical Infrastructure projects, totaling $19,982,200. The proposals were thoroughly reviewed according to the guidelines outlined in the PY 2015 Ohio Consolidated Plan. Upon completion of the review process, $9,698,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) dollars was awarded to the thirty-five (35) top ranking proposals.
